Making the Kite

Draw a grid of 1" (25 mm) squares on pattern material. Draw half of the kite sail and cut it out. Mark the location of the spars. Fold the tissue paper in half and trace the pattern onto the sail. Cut out both sides of the kite together.

Apply glue along the spine and attach it to the sail. Apply glue along the spars and attach to the sail, using the pattern under the sail to aid in their direction. Glue paper patches over the spine and spar ends.

Use a blunt needle to thread the kite line through the sail at the given bridle point. Tie the end of the kite line around the spine and spar.
